ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Edie. My pronouns are she/her and I am currently living and working humbly on the lands of the Arakwal People of the Bundjalung Nation.

Ever since I can remember, there's been an insatiable curiosity in me for all things taboo. An all consuming hunger for peering into the shadows and finding the gold. For asking the questions, for listening and observing and piecing things together. In a world where so much energy goes towards building walls around forbidden topics and shoving them deep down into the crevices and cracks of society, I couldn’t help but crawl in - mainly to satisfy my own spirit and thirst for experience.
One day something landed in me, telling me which direction to take. A tribute to a type of work that feels bigger than me, bigger than it all.
This path was forged with the wisdom and guidance of my teachers, my mentors, my leaders and my support people, and I am forever grateful for this influence.

My work is a tapestry of institutional training and study, alongside personal lived experience of self-enquiry and deep nervous system nourishment

I’ve completed 5 years of study in both institutional and informal settings; in Sexology, Menstrual Cycle Awareness, Birth Work, Somatics and Embodiment, Psychotherapy and Art and Mentoring. Through my extensive education, I’ve completed the necessary training to work in a trauma informed, anti-oppressive and anti-pathologizing capacity, as I believe these elements provide a supportive foundation upon which to build.

As I began my work as a Sexologist and Art Therapist, an organic process occurred wherein the layers of my practice began to build. I began attracting clients needing support with sexual pain, sexual shame, pleasure and embodiment, unlearning limiting sexual scripts and unpacking early childhood experiences that play out in adult life, relationships and sexual experiences. I also began attracting clients dealing with anxiety, overwhelm, burn out and those ready to their journey towards self-empowerment and taking ownership in their lives.

As a therapist, I deeply value the therapeutic relationship. I honour and respect the uniqueness and individuality of each client’s journey. My approach to this work will always prioritise my clients’ innate capacity for self-healing, as well as recognise them as their own best teacher and mentor.
My primary intention is to provide a safe container for people to venture inward and to become an unwavering companion on their voyage. I aim to provide someone with the space to work through their deepest vulnerabilities, to explore their most complex experiences, and most importantly, to welcome it all. Our sessions together will foster a deep sense of safety, trust, empathy and compassion.
